Menudo and Pozole Breakfast January 28th

Wow – what a crowd, the tables in the social parlor were packed and people had to resort to sitting at the bar. The Menudo and Pozole were both great. I personally enjoyed the Menudo. The Pozole people I spoke to were blown away with generous meaty soup. According to one of the committee members, the lovely chili based breakfast soup has doubled in quantity from 30 to 60 pounds of meat. And since they are still selling out quickly, they plan to up size the amount to 90 pounds. So if you arrived after 9:00 AM and did not get a chance to enjoy, look out for the next offering which will be on 2/25/18. The Elks Horn says it starts at 8:00 AM but the correct time is actually 7:30 AM. Come early so you don’t miss out ūüėČ


Come and enjoy both kinds of breakfast, Menudo and Pozole. Our committee prepares some of the best this side of Tijuana. It is fresh as can be and a real treat and it comes with all the trimming. Sales start at 7:30 AM and the price is $10 for all you can eat  The lounge is opening early to accommodate breakfast.

Oh, after breakfast come help the decorating committee clean out decorating room, we could use all the help we can get. This will take place at the lodge in the dining area. See you there!

Chili’s Restaurant – CHEA Give Back

California Hawaii Elks Association Major Project is once again partnering with Chili’s Restaurants on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Chili’s Give-Back event will donate 15% of the price of a meal to our Major Project. Last year’s event raised $5,415, Let’s beat that this year. Please either print included advertisement, pick one up at the lodge or simply show this webpage on your smart phone.

Firefighters Appreciation Night January 24th

The night was wonderful and the house was packed. A common theme resonated with all the nights winners, “I could not do this with the support of my family and fellow firefighters” Our first respondents definitely had more challenges this year than most.

Representatives from our City Counsel including Mayor Patino as well as County Supervisors were on hand to honor these hero’s. And in typical fashion the Elks there in force. It was a great night to enjoy fellowship and recognize the sacrifices the fire fighters make in supporting us all.


Let’s show our appreciation to our dedicated and hardworking firefighters by attending dinner in their honor.

Super Bowl Party 2018

Thanks to all 200+ of you who came out to watch the game! The food was plentiful and very good, so if you left hungry it wasn’t our fault. Our Master of Ceremonies was Keith Barks (Best Voiceon the Mic). Thank you as well to our bartenders and cocktail
waitresses who came in on a Sunday to work the bar. To all who assisted in making this day happen, we could not have done it without your commitment.

Once again it is time for the Super Bowl Party on February 4, 2018. It will be a pot-luck feast, so bring your favorite dish. There will be power provided for your electrical appliances, and a lot of room for anything else. You can bring sandwiches, chips, dips, desserts, or main dishes. It all works.
Starting time is at 12:00 noon–game starts at 3:00 p.m. There will be door prizes, raffles, and¬†bar specials.
