Mothers Day Brunch and Raffle 5/14/2017


Any Mother of an Elk is warmly invited to attend our Elks Mothers’ Day Brunch at no charge – to enjoy a delicious brunch from 9 am-noon Sunday, May 14… simply because we love and honor you. Anyone joining the Mother of an Elk (even if you’re a mother) is asked to pay $12 for this celebration… it is a wonderful meal. Please call the office for reservations at 805.922.1538.

This year we are thrilled to announce the CHEA Major Project Raffle – with prizes being awarded during the Brunch. Frances Brawner is displaying the prizes at the Lodge every Friday night during April. Local Student Wins 2017 Most Valuable Student Contest

Righetti High School student Zoi Urban has been named Top Female Student of the Year by Elks National Foundation. Ms. Urban was proudly sponsored by Elks Lodge 1538. She will receive a $50,000 scholarship from ENF along with Colin Norick, the Top Male Student from Montana.

Ms. Urban volunteers countless hours tutoring students, working with the Fighting Back Partnership that promotes creating healthy, safe and thriving communities, volunteers with Special Olympics at the Southern California Regional Games, and is active with the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County. Passionate about the arts, Ms. Urban is also active with theater, overseeing local children’s theater and dance productions.

Both students will receive their awards at the Elks Grand Lodge National Convention in Reno, Nevada July 14-17.

Scout-O-Rama 5/6/2017 10am-2pm

Boy Scouts of America – Los Padres Council will be holding Scout-O-Rama at Waller Park on Saturday, May 6 from 10am – 2pm.(map)

Scout-O-Rama is a large outdoor event where Scouting groups in our local community showcase games, crafts, activities, walking the monkey bridge, fishing, life skills and more – it’s truly a great event for the whole family!

Elks Lodge 1538, proud sponsors of the Los Padres Council, will BBQ on site to provide an $8 lunch including Santa Maria style BBQ steak sandwiches, chips and salsa, and a drink; funds raised will support the Los Padres Council of Boy Scouts of America.
