A Night In Greater Tuna, was performed by the PIONEER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL Drama students to raise funds for a drama trip to New York city. The production was sponsored by the Santa Maria Elks Past Exalted Rulers association and performed at the Elks Lodge on January 22, 2017.
The Drama class of PIONEER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL is going to take 14 students to NEW YORK CITY to see 3 plays and to go to 2 workshops. This production of, “A Night in Greater Tuna”, was performed one night only at the Lodge. The drama club production crew did all the stage setup and ran the sound and lighting. In addition, they assisted Donald Moshier with serving the evenings dinner and clean up.
The Two male actors each had 11 different parts to play including female roles. According to PER Don Moshier, “… the show was very entertaining and the audience also enjoyed live music provided by a very talented male singer. This was one of those win win situations for lodge and the High School.”

Pioneer Valley High School “Center Stage” Drama Club will perform this hilarious comedy about a day in the life of Texas’ third smallest town. The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by only two performers, making this satire on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict over twenty inhabitants of Tuna — men, women, children and animals.

As promised, there were 800 Children from the Santa Maria-Bonita School District who graduated the D.A.R.E. program at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge. As part of the ceremonies, winning essays are read and the children were entertained. Check out the gallery.
